There are many organizations in Fairfax County and across the Potomac that provide cultural and artistic opportunities to our residents. Some of these organizations are identified below along with links to their Web sites.
In Washington DC and Maryland:
- Arena Stage - A repertory theater organization that presents a wide-range of theatrical performances in four different theaters.
- Kennedy Center - Washington's Kennedy Center has an opera hall, a concert hall, and several theatres that present cultural and artistic events constantly.
- Merriweather Post Pavilion - An outdoor amphitheater that presents many different events during the warm months of the year.
- Smithsonian - The many museums of the Smithsonian Institute provide endless opportunities to learn about our nation and the world around us.
In Fairfax County:
- Fairfax Symphony - Hailed as "The Pride of Fairfax County," the Fairfax Symphony has showcased the greatest works in the orchestral repertoire and featured guest appearances by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. Recognized as one of the outstanding metropolitan orchestras in America, the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra offers a broad range of concert performances, community outreach activities and educational programs that reach over 55,000 people each year.
- Center for the Arts - George Mason University's Center for the Arts is less than 15 minutes from Mantua. This wonderful facility provides many artistic performances throughout the year.
- Arts Council of Fairfax - Founded in 1964 as one of the first private, non-profit arts agencies in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Council's mission is to create an environment in which the arts and artists can flourish and enrich the cultural quality of life for all Fairfax County residents.
- Wolf Trap - A great artistic and cultural establishment that provides entertainment for a host of different tastes in an outdoor setting.
