National Night Out in Mantua!
Mark your calendars! The first Tuesday of August — August 4 — is National Night Out (NNO), and our neighborhood is ready to keep the tradition going strong.
What is National Night Out?
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The goal is simple: get to know your neighbors and make our community a safer, more caring place to live. How much better can we get, right? While many cities hold large central rallies, our neighborhood focuses on street-level block parties, like potlucks, ice cream socials, and driveway hangouts.
A Tradition of Giving Back
In true Mantua style, NNO is more than just a party. We also hold our annual National Night Out Food Drive. Each host site serves as a collection point for donations, making it easy for neighbors to drop off nonperishable goods while they mingle. Last year was a massive success, and we’re looking forward to seeing how much we can gather for the local food pantry this summer!
Host Your Street!
We already have several hosts who have begun planning their festivities, but there is always room for more. Hosting is easy—you don’t need a grand plan, just a driveway or a patch of grass where neighbors can gather.
If you are interested in hosting a gathering on your street, please reach out to me via email at otclawson@gmail.com.
Let’s make this August 4 another National Night Out to remember!
