Digging Out Mantua, February 2026

The winter storm that hit Mantua on Jan. 23 brought serious snow and ice, and showcased how much Mantuans support each other.

Residents helped each other shovel sidewalks and driveways, and the MCA helped connect neighbors with VDOT. MCA filed dozens of snow removal requests with VDOT, and spent hours on hold with customer service to get results. Following a request from the Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools for neighbors to help clear paths to school, the MCA and Mantua PTA enlisted the help of neighbor Nick Sposa and his skid steer to widen Kirkwood Dr. between Southwick St. and Horner Ct.

Thank you, Nick, and all of our neighbors for their tireless commitment to making Mantua the best place to call home!
