October 2025 Membership Meeting Topics Announced

The MCA has announced the program for the October Membership meeting, which will be held online and in-person on Thursday, October 23 at 7 PM in the Mantua Elementary Cafeteria.
Topics include:
- Vacuum Leaf Program update from Eric Forbes, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. Eric will go through what went wrong during last year’s leaf service and share how DPWES plans to execute better this year, including adding resources, equipment, and quality control.
- Casino in Providence info from Andrew Pavord. Proponents of a casino in Tysons Corner plan to bring legislation to Richmond in the next General Assembly in January. Attendees will get the latest.
- School Start Times update from Phyllis Payne, co-Founder of SLEEP in Fairfax. As FCPS looks at changing school start times for all students from Elementary to High School, Phyllis will explain what is at stake and how neighbors can help.
