President’s Message January 2026
January 2, 2026
Matt Mullin, president@mantua.org
What does $25 buy you nowadays? In the Mullin household, it might get us a
loaf of bread and a jar of Nutella for the girls, which lasts about three days.
But at the Mantua Citizens’ Association, your annual $25 dues get you loads
more, and it’ll keep the whole year!
For example, in 2025, the MCA produced or supported:
• Wildlife demonstrations in Eakin Park featuring owls & hawks
• A Halloween party for the kids
• Two adult craft markets
• A child-led holiday market
• An all-you-can-eat holiday party
• Updates to our entrance landscaping and lighting
• Road improvements at Southwick and Prosperity, and a high-visibility crosswalk at Prince William and
Horner
• Potholes filled on Prince William, Stoneleigh, Hamilton, Glenbrook, and Colesbury
• Four public membership meetings with over 350 attendees online and in-person
• 85 pages of hyper-local news reporting in our newsletter
And started in 2025, but still to come this year, a memorial bench for longtime friend and neighbor Fran
Wallingford, and a refresh of MCA’s website, Mantua.org.
On top of all of that, the MCA merged with the Moms of Mantua, so your membership dues go twice as far.
Please support our work by renewing now. Thank you for making Mantua the best place to call home.
