President’s Message – October 2025

Fall is a busy time in Mantua, with a little something for everyone.

The civic-minded can attend our quarterly Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 23 at 7 PM at Mantua Elementary, with a packed program detailed below.

Anyone interested in enjoying the beautiful weather while making Mantua more beautiful can help with clean up efforts at Accotink Creek (starting Saturday Oct. 11 at 12:00 PM at Barkley Dr and the CCT trailhead) and the forest behind Tovito Dr (starting Saturday Oct. 18 at 2:00 PM at the paved access road on Tovito).

And those who want to have a good time can join us for the first post-merger MOMs/MCA Halloween Party on Saturday, October 25 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Mantua Swim & Tennis Club parking lot. New this year, there will be a bike parade to the party starting from Mantua Elementary at 2:30 PM. Come in costume and ride along with friends and neighbors!

Speaking of the merger between MOMs and the MCA, the bylaws amendment that allows a board member of MOMs to join the MCA passed 138 to 5, or 96% in favor. Alina Malm will take the seat as our Families Around Mantua (FAM) chair. She will be responsible for putting on the annual Halloween Party and the Spring Egg Hunt, as well as other events for Mantuans of all ages. Welcome to the fam, Alina!
