Status of Repairs to Big Dip on Hamilton
I spoke with VDOT to find out why nothing has been done regarding the big dip in Hamilton near Alba, which we reported to them over 2 months ago. It seems VDOT notified the utility and is waiting for them to fix it. When I asked how long VDOT waits, the rep said she’ll add something indicating this has been open over 2 months, and that it creates a danger because cars slow down unexpectedly for the dip. If the utility doesn’t do something soon, VDOT will send its own repair crew.
Other Problem Areas
On June 16, I’ll be touring the neighborhood with VDOT and FCDOT officials to point out safety issues and discuss possible solutions for the following:
• Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail (CCT) crossings at Barkley Ave and Prosperity Ave
• Prosperity Ave intersection with Southwick St
• Crosswalks on Prince William Drive at Horner Court and at Okla Drive
• Hamilton Drive road depression and speeding
• Moving stop lines closer to intersections to improve driver visibility
